Been Looking a lot Like Christmas...

I opened my e-mail the other day and found a notice of a comment from a little elf suggesting I get back to blogging! Thank you, Little Elf!

Said little elf wanted to hear about all my holiday mumbo-jumbo! Let's see...since just after Thanksgiving, I've been listening to a station that plays nothing but Christmas music. I do believe my wonderful alone-in-the-car voice has improved dramatically in this time, as well as my ability to recite classic carols!

While many of you have been in an icy wonder-land, we've been in snow, lots and lots of snow! It's pretty and fluffy and it's been sticking around. So, unless we get some dreadful rain over the weekend, we're sure to have a dreamy White Christmas.

I'm so grateful for the early gift of studded tires from my Dad! Who needs 4WD? I love my studded tires! 7 years of cursing my poor little truck in the winter, so many cries, "I just wanna go home...just get us up this hill!" Alas - I now have zippy little tires that are prvoing to make all the difference in my enjoyment of this season.

I haven't been taking any photos, since Matt still had our old, tired, does-the-job-but-not-quite-like-we-want HP digital camera...but I plan to post lots of shots with our (shhh....it's a surprise!) NEW compact digi-cam!

Why does every company make so many different kinds of cameras? First, I had to settle on a budget-wise decision and decide that my dream SLR will just have to wait. Then, I had to decide on one that has features that will please both me & Matt, then finally, I had to choose a color!

After lots of comparisons, I was torn between a couple Canons & Panasonic options that Circuit City had on sale all at the same price ($100+ under the regular price!).

I finally decided the Panasonic Lumix TZ3 (what do all these numbers and letters mean? Who are they trying to impress?) was the best deal since Matt really wanted to use a good Burst-Mode (for flying ducks & geese, of course) and I really wanted something with a good optical zoom range.

While I was feeling megapixel greedy and wanting more...I 'settled' with the 7.2 mgp. I love that it has a 10x optical zoom. I don't so much love the big view-finder that completely replaces the optical view-finder...but Matt will approve.

Can you tell this has been a subject that has taken a lot of my attention lately?...on other notes....

Matt concluded his guiding season and has spent the last couple weeks putting everything away...and making jerky! Ahh...there's nothing quite like the smell of jerky drying for 9+ hours in your house! Now he's getting ready to spend a few weeks at Taxidermy school. So proud of my go-getter man!

I'm so excited to have Christmas dinner in my brother's new home! He closed on a house today and is eager to have us over to show it off on Christmas. I am so happy for him...it has everything he needs...a nice home, 2-car garage, acres of meadow & woods (complete with alleys already cut for deer!) and I think there's even a pond. ....................................................................

I was just sidetracked...I was typing this at work (guilty!) and Renee came in to show me an e-mail from Laurie where she put the girls' faces on little dancing elves - ADORABLE!!! So, of course, we had to be a little naughty and make our own version using a few managers' faces. In the spirit of the season, I sent the finished product to these elves alone (resisting the urge to forward to all!) Check out this site... http://www.elfyourself.com/

Hahahahahaha....now I really have to go and get back to work or I'll be here all night!

Thank you for blogging. I love the camera dilemma, it is so true. It a 7/11 mentality in a blockbuster world. If you only have 2 choices it is so easy! I hope you have a wonderful christmas. We miss you guys.
