Here’s what you do…

Using your favorite imaging program, create an image. (For the quilt background I just added, I set the page to 1450 x 1100 pixels then opened a picture of the quilt. I guessed about how wide I wanted the center column to be and simply “cut” it out of the image and re-saved.)
Upload your image to your Photobucket account. Click on the image once it’s loaded to your photobucket. You will see a list of link options near the bottom right of the screen. Copy the link labeled, “Direct link – layout pages”
Then, create your layout code by replacing that specific link with the link I’ve highlighted in below in blue (be sure to keep the parentheses and quotation marks around the link.

In blogger, update your layout by clicking on Layout tab, then Page Elements. Choose “add gadget” and pick “html/javascript” gadget. Copy your layout code into the text box that pops up, then save.
