Happy Mother's Day!

This past weekend was so nice. On Friday, friends of ours who live 2 hours away asked us to meet half-way in NY for dinner. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and a lingered a long while after for dessert. I wish I'd had a camera when my "slice" of Tollhouse Pie was set in front of me. You would not believe the size of it! I brought home what I wouldn't finish there and ate off it all weekend.

On Saturday, we had breakfast at Matt's mom's house. It was delicious and bountiful as usual. She gave me this great WillowTree figurine of a pregnant woman, and she loved her "Grandma's Brag Book" that I gave her for Mother's Day. Matt & I spent the rest of the day at home, and had fun playing frisbee with Sailor as Monkey-in-the-Middle. That was the first real exercise I've had in about 10 weeks. Whoa.

On Sunday, I enjoyed celebrating my very, very first Mother's Day. Matt kept saying, "He may not be born, but you're already a mother." We spent the afternoon with Mom & Grandma at mom's and ran some retrieves with Sailor in the field and in the water.

I had also picked out a WillowTree figure for Mom. It is titled, "Happiness" with the caption, "Free to Laugh, Sing, Dance, & Create." If that doesn't remind me of mom, I don't know what would. Dad & Armond joined us later for dinner & dessert. They had spent the weekend planting willows, apple trees & clover at Armond's house. We got news from CA that Grandma is going to be a Great, Great Grandma! Uncle Ed's grandaughter, Janelle, just learned she is pregnant. Grandma's response was, "When did I get so old?"

The baby is really quite active these days. I feel him every day and Matt finally had a chance to feel him move this past week. It's an exciting feeling to feel so connected to him. I think we're getting closer on finalizing his name. In fact, we may have come up with names for two other children we hope to have one day!
