Today has totally been a snow-day! I have the day off from work, and I took that quite literally. I'm still in my pj's and it's after 3:00. The snow started falling again about 11a.m. and it's really piling up. Sailor is a fool and wants to be out in it all day.

Last night, Renee asked us to write down our resolutions so we could help each other stick to them. We all laughed because I kept re-writing mine. That's right, even in writing a resolution, I am a perfectionist-procrastinator: putting things off because I don't even want to start unless I think it will be "just right." So, I finally settled on a loaded, open-ended, heard-it-before resolution of "save more/spend wisely AND finish my 1/2 finished projects."

I'm off to a promising start, though. The most productive thing I've done today was to put things in writing. I made a list of those 1/2 finished projects I had in mind and taped it to my refrigerator. Also, I dug through copies of bills and updated a "budget" worksheet for the New Year and I made a note by my phone that says, "Don't Dial Long Distance - use Tracfone!"
I just thought of another resolution that made me laugh out loud and I think I'll post it on the fridge too, "Get a Haircut and Get a Real Job." Hahahhahaha!
Then, of course, there's the classic "eat well, move more" resolution that I am calling "Bikini Bootcamp" and hope to keep it up until Matt returns and we head to Florida. By then, maybe it will even become a habit.
So, I posted a sheet on the fridge for that, too. And at the top it reads, "It's only 26 days!" My devious plan - drink lots of water, eat mostly fruits & veggies, sweat for at least 1/2 and hour a day and eliminate sweets. Hahahahaha! As I was writing that on my "fridge plan" I was scarfing down Laurie's Caramel Popcorn by the handfuls.
I drew 26 little squares under each of these headings: Lots of water, exersise, fruits & veggies, no sweets. Since I wasn't able to check off "no sweets" today, I added a little box above "tomorrow's" square under exercise.
I also wrote a list of things I can do to stay active everyday (snowshoe, spin or pilates at gym, take a walk, actually use one of my videos, shovel snow) and who I could call to join me.
I promise not to bore you with any more details on this matter...but I thought putting it in writing in a few places would hold me accountable.
On another note, I caught a glimpse of the Rose Bowl Parade this morning and decided I'd add "see the Rose Bowl Parade in person to "my list of things to do."
