Before & After

Desperate times call for desperate measures?

I've been wearing these shoes for years...and it showed with gray, dried out toes and edges. Long pant legs have hid them fairly well, but we're having a taste of Spring here, so I wore a skirt today. I go to the office and slipped them on and thought, "ughhh, so much for a fresh spring look"....then I spied a black marker in the drawer by my desk and starting dabbing a little here and there. It actually did the job quite well and I ended up coloring all of them, which brought back memories of doodling on my sneakers in class in junior high -much to the disapproval of my parents.

They're still a little wet adding a nice shine this morning. There's not even any streaks, you may not have noticed if I wasn't so proud of my little touch-up job! The only trouble is that I used "washable crayola marker" - no heavy permanent marker smell, but I won't be able to wear them outside for fear of getting wet and spotty! Like the time I used rub-on tanning lotion and ran through a puddle.
