Belly-Rama!

Misty urged me to get back to blogging (and I can't let a momma with a brand new baby blog more than I am right now!) and requested a glimpse at the belly, so here's a few shots...

on my birthday...this black shirt doesn't really show off the belly & Matt doesn't look too impressed here, but don't let him fool you - he's infatuated with it.
Weekend of June 7th - that was a Heat Wave weekend! We took a boat ride and tried to stay cool at Mom & Dad's.
This is today...Ma met me to join us for our next ultrasound and she started documenting in the parking lot at work!
Mom-in-law came, too!
And, of course, Matthew! Check out THAT belly-shot. Ma took another picture, straight on...all belly - but I'll spare you that.

It was fun to figure out where his head and feet are. His head is low and his feet are poking out my side. He's had the hiccups about every day and he's very active. But, I think he was napping during today's U/S.

Everything looked good and healthy. The technician saved a bunch of photos to use for teaching purposes and a bunch for us...his beautiful lips & nose, the great shot of the 4-chambers of his heart, his feet (2 inches long!) and his "boy-parts" that she described, to Matt's delight, as "big as a barn-door!"

Our "little" guy weighs a whopping 4 lb. 3 oz. at 30 weeks! So, now I know why every single day I get asked at least 3 times, "Are you having twins?" or "You must be due any day." Nope, he's just "very large for his age" as the doctor put it. She took one look at Matt today and said, "I see where he gets it." She said if I carry to term, we're looking at 8 - 9 lbs. Matt has been saying it all along, but I was in denial.

Despite the incredible growing uterus, I'm feeling great - just had big puffy feat and ankles last week, but they're better now. Our A/C was out at work for 2 weeks and that didn't help. Matt poured me a bucket of cold water to soak my feet. He's so considerate of my discomforts. He encourages my naps and lets me sleep in just a bit :) I'm loving the A/C at home. Since I'm always so warm, it doesn't bother me to sleep with it cranked on in the bedroom like it used to.
Last night was the first time I've slept all through the night. I wonder if Matt slipped me something? I'm usually up between 3:30 and 4:30, sometimes around 1:00, too. It's odd, it's like the same thing every night. My mom-in-law says this means that's when I'll give birth. We'll see about that...

I know I need to stretch and move more, I get so lame and I walk like a duck. We measured my girth the other night (but with a carpenter's tape - so not absolute accurate) and I was about 3 feet around. Remember, I'm only just over 5 ft tall! I've put on 28 lbs. Anyone want to guess what the final will be?
I do feel good, though, I mean, it's "mostly" all belly, and love handles, and thighs, and calves, and of course chest. I've scored big on maternity hand-me-downs and great garage sale finds. But, I'm afraid I'll have to go buy more at this rate!

Well, listen to me ramble...I'll post some more soon about other things we've been up to, and I'll have to share some of the new baby photos :)
